This exhibition focuses on the random compositions of decaying fallen trees and the vibrant ecosystem that thrives amidst it, exploring the intricate interplay of color and texture that emerges in the forest's darker corners. Rather than depicting traditionally beautiful scenes, Skógar seeks to uncover the quiet, compelling beauty found in these shadowy, mysterious spaces.
Each painting in Skógar reflects my observation with the subtle, often overlooked elements of the forest. The decaying wood, with its rich, layered hues, and the lush, contrasting greens of moss, create a dialogue that speaks of life, death, and renewal. These works invite viewers into a deeper appreciation of the forest’s hidden wonders, encouraging a contemplative, immersive experience.
